Asus Prime Z390-a Which M.2 Slot to Use

Im going to be building a pc this weekend using the Asus Prime Z390-A and was curious about the M2 NVMe slots on this board. Im assuming that the motherboard is just defective but I am entirely over assembling and reassembling this computer which refuses to work even with using only parts that are on the QVL.

At the end of the day I had to do nothing out of the ordinary to get m2 adapters working with an Asus Z390-P just the normal 4G decoding and PCIe at v1 turn off all onboard stuff not being used etc.

Ive had a hard time finding any good info on this. It is best to place it on the upper slot if you have two M2 slots. The board has two slots one in the center just below the cpu and one toward the bottom with a heat sink.
